Happy New Year?

2012 ended with a bang. We had Char's bday party at JJ jump and took the entire family with lots of great friends.

We celebrated New Years by watching the 9pm west coast CNN coverage of Time's Square and then promptly went to bed.

We didn't have time to notice the usual post-Christmas and birthday(s) letdown.

Andrew and Bennett got sick. We went into the hospital late night on New Year's day and Andrew was admitted at 4am with croup. He was there for 2 nights and received some steroids and several breathing treatments. Kristen missed her 3rd day back to work after almost 7 months off. Not a great start to the year.

Andrew is doing well now. Bennett just got a cold and didn't need to be admitted. The parent accomodations on the pediatric floor are better than the NICU. We're like the zagat's of hospitals and health insurance. Providence is more friendly that Kristen's horrible self-administered plan. Better HR at my work too.

Both boys are in their room now and Char's in her new big bed. Kristen's dad helped me with the bedroom shuffle. It's nice that the boys aren't living in the family room anymore. We are all sleeping okay, better than before, hoping for full nights. We were spoiled since char was such a good sleeper.

Char got her 4-yr shots and was brave. Cried a lot but no freak-out. Ice cream to follow.

Grandma and Grandpa Massing are gone. My yard is once again immaculate and Christmas lights down and stored thanks to kristens dad.

Meals are more grab-n-go, but we're eating well. My grandma fiddler would be happy to know since she was always making sure that I eat well. I think I'm eating too well. Today is the 2nd year since she passed. We miss her but have lots of great memories.

Samantha, our nanny has started and is awesome. She leaves our house better than when she got there and takes care of the boys wonderfully! Char is in love with her and her art ability.

The boys are both rolling both ways and just starting to eat cereal.

This has been a good weekend. Samantha was here yesterday while Kristen worked. I took char to the pool, and we ran errands. I took the dogs for a walk and did a bunch of stuff I've been wanting to do for weeks. Kristen worked again today and Laura came over for a few hours to hang out. Char was really good and is getting the hang of playing by herself; a skill she might not have mastered had the boys not been here.

Yes, I think it's going to be a good year. Happy New Year!
